ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS

We aim to make the process of getting started with new students as simple as possible.

Our system automatically connects you with new students that match your location, subjects and availabilities, which you can then accept in just a few clicks.

THERE ARE 2 WAYS TO ACCEPT STUDENTS:

1. By SMS notification

As soon as a student comes up near you that matches your subjects and availabilities we send you the details by SMS.

If you are interested, click the link in the SMS and view the details of the student. If you feel you are the tutor for the job, login to your Dashboard, hit accept and it’s yours – you’ll receive the details by email and can then communicate with the student directly.


2. By browsing current jobs

You can also view available students in Dashboard by heading to jobs. Map view will show you all current students looking for a tutor on a map and all jobs will list them by proximity to you and a seperate group of online student opportunities. You are free to accept any of these students at any time if you think you are the right tutor for the job and have what they are looking for.

Allowing you to view all current students gives you an opportunity to work with students that might not live in your neighbourhood, but still somewhere you spend a lot of time, like University or work.

If you find a student that you want to work with, click details, review the information and click accept. All the details will be sent to you by email and you can contact the student directly from there.


CAN’T DO THE TIME AND DATE LISTED?

You can suggest an alternate time for the first session by clicking the button at the bottom of the details window. We will then communicate with the parent – if they can do it we will schedule it in for you, and if they can’t we will let you know.

Super important: only accept a student if you are 110% certain you can do the first session as listed in the student details. Cancelling a first session after you’ve accepted will earn you an official warning and if it happens more than once you will not be able to accept any more students. You can understand that cancelling a scheduled session is a ton of extra work for our team, as well as disappointing for the students so we do not take it lightly.

NIC'S HOT TIP:

Remember that the job offers you receive are defined by your availabilities in Dashboard, so do your best to keep these updated (you can do this anytime in Dashboard.) If you want tons of job offers, make yourself fully available – you can always decline a job offer or suggest an alternate time that works for you if you need to, but being more available gives you more options!

 

Please note that you will not be able to accept a student until you have submitted your WWCC number. You can do this in Dashboard at any time by going to your details > update your details.
